Arvind Kejriwal is a Graduate from IIT Kharagpur, Having got the degree you may expect him to take up a job and earn large amounts of wealth, but he dint do that, Instead he started preparing for IAS examination, Although he wasnt successful in IAS, he was good enough to get a job in the Indian Revenue Service Department.

Realizing the amount of corruption in d Govt, Arvind Kejriwal gave up his job n money to work on social issues, Today his wife earns and manages the family and household expenditure while Kejriwal works for d society having resigned.

Arvind Kejriwal is actually the man behind the Right To Information Act, a act through which political leaders like Narendra Modi can expose Sonia Gandhi's foreign expenditure of 1800 crores n all that.

His Work for Right to Information :

He along with Aruna Roy and others, campaigned for the Right to Information Act, which soon became a silent social movement, Delhi Right to Information Act was passed in 2001 and eventually at national level Indian Parliament passed the Right to Information Act (RTI) in 2005. He was awarded Ramon Magsaysay Award for Emergent Leadership in 2006, for activating India’s Right to Information movement at grassroots and social activities to empower the poorest citizens to fight corruption by holding the government answerable to the people.

Arvind Kejriwal also met Mother Teresa and worked under her in Kalighat. went into the interiors of Bodoland and other areas. He also joined the Ramakrishna Mission for a while and then Nehru Yuva Kendra and travelled all across Haryana.

Whatever Award money got through the Magsaysay Award, he used it to found a movement named Parivartan, focused on assisting citizens in navigating income tax, electricity and food ration matters in parts of Delhi. It also aids other groups in educating citizens nationwide about India’s Right to Information Act, which has proved very effective in Delhi in settling people’s grievances with government departments. It is studying the institutionalization of local self-governance, taking the model in rural areas in which a general body decides how much money should be spent and on what projects, and holds government officials to account if these plans are not implemented correctly.

With RTI (Right to Information) Corruption can be exposed but to punish corrupt people, he drafted Jan Lokpal Bill (People’s Lokpal Bill). Anna Hazare was the leader of this bill but the real builder is Arvind Kejriwal. When this movement was started, it was supported by thousands of people from all over the country. He and his team members even hold fasts for 10 days, Arvind Kejriwal was even arrested for the success of this movement.

During his mass movement, Kejriwal n his members wer spotted sleeping at d railway stations, eating on d footpaths n thus sacrificing their lives for d nation's sake.

Despite dialogues n protests for about 2 years, and with the Govt now not responding over 'Jan' Lokpal, Kejriwal finally had no option bt to form his own Political party 'The Aam Aadmi Party'.

During his struggle for social justice n corruption, he was felicitated with different awards like,

2004: Ashoka Fellow, Civic Engagement[12]

2005: 'Satyendra K. Dubey Memorial Award', IIT Kanpur for his campaign for bringing transparency in Government[16]

2006: Ramon Magsaysay Award for Eminent Leadership[3][4]

2006: CNN-IBN, 'Indian of the Year' in Public Service[50]

2009: Distinguished Alumnus Award, IIT Kharagpur for Eminent Leadership[2]

2010: Policy Change Agent of the Year, The Economic Times Awards for Corporate Excellence along with Aruna Roy[51]

2011: NDTV Indian of the Year along with Anna Hazare[52].

Arvind Kejriwal sacrifices his luxurious and comfortable life for the youth of India, for their bright future. He is the one who brings transparency in government by his social activities and protest against corruptions.
